The Role

The nX Systems R&D Team, based in Lugano (Switzerland), is responsible for a large scale backend infrastructure built in C++ on Windows, which allows financial applications to access a variety of value-added data and analytical functionalities, covering individual securities as well as aggregates such as indexes, portfolios, and peer groups.

The team is seeking an experienced Software Developer with an in-depth knowledge of C/C++. You will be given the opportunity to make a tangible contribution to the design, implementation and testing of state-of-the-art financial software. These positions require strong analytical and communication skills.

The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated quick learner with attention to detail and with a strong desire to analyze business problems and translate them into working software.

The Research and Development division of Bloomberg is responsible for creating and maintaining all functions within the Bloomberg Terminal which is used by our clients in the Finance industry. The Bloomberg Terminal is a large scale distributed financial information system comprising Market analysis, live Data and News, Trading and Portfolio functions.


Qualifications

- MSc/MA or PhD in Computer Science, Economics, Engineering, Physics, Mathematics or Finance, or equivalent experience.
- Substantial commercial experience developing large scale, multi-threaded, high-performance applications on Windows
- Strong knowledge of C++, STL, Windows internals
- Ability to work in a mixed Windows / Unix development environment
- Solid understanding of service-oriented architectures and network programming
- Solid understanding of Data Structures, Algorithms, and Object-Oriented design
- Experience of full development life cycle, practical experience with Unit/ Regression Testing
- Knowledge of databases and/or cluster technology is a plus
- Working knowledge of Financial Markets is a plus
- Italian language skills would be advantageous
